NOTA Fitness & Wellness delivers customized wellness experiences that help organizations create healthier, more connected workplaces and communities. Our programs include health education, fitness, wellness events, workshops, challenges, and interactive experiences designed to make wellness engaging, not another thing employees have to check off their list. We are looking for confident, engaging Health Educators to join our contractor team and represent NOTA at client events throughout the DC Metropolitan Area, with opportunities for virtual programming nationwide. The Role As a Health Educator, you will serve as a knowledgeable and energetic representative of NOTA at corporate wellness events, health fairs, wellness programs, presentations, and other client experiences. This is a highly client-facing role. You may lead a health education presentation one day, facilitate an interactive wellness booth the next, and engage directly with employees at a fitness challenge or wellness event. This role requires strong communication skills, confident presentation abilities, adaptability, and a solid understanding of health and wellness, along with the ability to make people feel comfortable, informed, and excited to participate. What You'll Do Deliver engaging health and wellness presentations, workshops, and seminars virtually and in person. Present on topics such as fitness, nutrition, stress management, sleep, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle behaviors, and other wellness topics. Facilitate interactive wellness activities, fitness challenges, educational booths, games, and other NOTA event experiences. Engage event attendees through friendly, approachable, and meaningful conversations. Represent NOTA professionally and create a positive experience for every client and participant. Adapt your communication style and facilitation approach to different audiences, settings, and client needs. Follow event instructions, timelines, talking points, and client-specific requirements. Work independently onsite while knowing when to ask questions or elevate an issue. Communicate important participant, site, or event occurrences to the Program Manager within 24 hours. Immediately communicate any incident involving participant harm or safety concerns and complete required incident documentation. Maintain a professional appearance and arrive prepared and on time for assigned events. Provide feedback and observations that help NOTA continuously improve its programs and client experiences. What We're Looking For Required : Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Sciences, or a related field. A relevant professional certification or credential in health, wellness, fitness, nutrition, or health education (such as CHES, CPT, CSCS, Registered Dietitian, Health Coach, Group Fitness, or similar). Professional experience in health education, public health, corporate wellness, fitness/wellness programming, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in public speaking, presenting, teaching, or facilitating groups. Strong knowledge of health and wellness topics, with the ability to communicate information accurately and in an engaging, easy-to-understand way. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to confidently approach and engage people you may not know. Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Flexibility and willingness to support different types of events, programs, and audiences. Professional judgment and the ability to respond appropriately when situations change onsite. Preferred : 3+ years of experience in health education, public health, corporate wellness, health promotion, or a related field. Experience delivering corporate wellness presentations or employee wellness programs. Experience creating or customizing presentations and educational materials. Experience facilitating health fairs, wellness events, workshops, fitness events, or other community-based programs.
